Project Profile

The client wanted to amplify the spaciousness of the four bedroom duplex apartment making it boundless as well as to give a distinct appeal to the entire space making it aesthetically pleasing. The four bedroom duplex comprises of the entrance lobby, bar, dining area, living room, kitchen and guest bedroom, with a large balcony for the living area & guest bedroom giving a marvellous view outside. Along with the master bedroom and guest room, the other two bedrooms are for kids which are theme based.
The highlight of the 2816 sq. ft. office space is the double height and the glass facade that boosts its volume. The requirement was to create a minimal yet dynamic workplace that would transcend the site conditions. The client wanted to retain the open and voluminous nature of the site. The brief was to create an un-official ambience reflecting a coffee shop. Even so the office was to have space for some formal interactions.
Minimalism is misunderstood by a many. When Mies Van Der Rohe said ‘Less is more’, he did not mean stripping down elements to make a design bare. A minimalistic approach is which gives emphasis on the simplification a form. We were given a brief by Mahindra Lifespaces Pvt. Ltd. to create a space for contemporary living inspired by art for their premium project called L’artista at Sopanbaug, Pune.
Located in Mumbai, the 2200 sq. ft. office is designed to reflect the company’s profile through its innovatively designed interiors. The company headed by the patriarch and his sons recommended to have distinctive look for the entire office. The founder and elder son wanted their cabin to have a formal look, the younger son desired something right out of a sci-fi film. The work zone was then designed keeping the functional requirements in the mind.
Norman Foster “As an architect you design for the present, with an awareness of the past for a future which is essentially unknown.” We took off from this when we started working on this 1266 sq.ft. apartment in the western suburbs. This residence is 2 apartments coalesced to one. The clients having lived in culturally firm Rajasthan, have made the queen of metropolitans; Mumbai their Home for the past few years.
